  • Civil War Sesquicentennial Community Meeting

    9:00 am – Noon, Civil War Sesquicentennial Community Meeting at the North Lodge Room, George Washington Masonic National Memorial, 101 Callahan Drive, Alexandria. Different committees will be announced and participants may sign up to work with committees of interest to them. Committees will then begin planning programs for Alexandria’s commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. This meeting is open to all, and public participation is most welcome.   • Presentation of Finalists for Four Mile Run Pedestrian-Cyclist Bridge

    1:00 – 7:00 pm - Presentations, 6:00 pm- reception, 7:00 pm - Presentation of Finalists for Four Mile Run Pedestrian-Cyclist Bridge at the George Washington Masonic Memorial, 191 Callahan Drive, Alexandria. The public is invited to attend a series of presentations by the three finalists who will be sharing their professional works for the planned Four Mile Run Pedestrian-Cyclist Bridge from 1:00 to 7:00 pm.   • Annual Rum Punch Challenge

    7:00 – 9:30 pm, Annual Rum Punch Challenge at Gadsby's Tavern Museum, 134 N. Royal Street, Alexandria. Just as tavern guests did over 200 years ago, try different rum punch creations from local distilleries, restaurants and caterers – and then vote for your favorite. This year’s participants include defending champ Bittersweet, Union Street Pub, Bacardi, Dogfish Head Spirits, Basikneads Catering and Gadsby’s Tavern Restaurant.
