Alexandria Democratic Committee Monthly Meeting
7:00 pm – Phone Banking and Compiling Postcards for Eileen Filler-Corn, 8:00 pm - Meeting, Alexandria Democratic Committee Monthly Meeting at Cafeteria (Note the new meeting location), Minnie Howard School, 3801 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria. We will be meeting in the Minnie Howard cafeteria and will have two hands-on activities: 1) we will be compiling postcards for new voters in Alexandria from this past January and 2) from 7-8PM, we will be making phone calls for Eileen Filler-Corn. Eileen is the Democratic candidate for Virginia’s 41st House of Delegates’ seat; this is a special election to fill Sen. Dave Marsden’s old seat. The election is on Tuesday, March 2, so our calls on Monday night will be very important. We will provide the call sheets and scripts, though please bring your own cell phone to make the calls.. The meeting will also take place in the cafeteria, and there will be sitting by precinct. Please retrieve your name badge. That will qualify you for the door prize and serves as the proof that you attended the meeting. Pedestrian and Bicycle Citizens Group Meeting
7 pm, Pedestrian and Bicycle Citizens Group Meeting, at the Durant Center, 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria. Agenda will include discussion of the city's snow removal plan and a brief review of the City response to the February snow storms; review of the city's proposed FY2011 budget with a focus on pedestrian and bicycle funding; and review of the city's requests for new federal appropriations.
